Well Well

Well, I spent a couple of hours in the rehearsal space fleshing out my tune for the WAVE file and realizing that I was going to have to stay above the 12th fret in order to stay out of the way of the bassline. I was messing with everything tonight with the Ash down amp, turning up the valve drive, trying the sub-harmonizer, turning up the treble, turning up the bass and then with the settings on my bass. Then I wanted to hear the bassline an octave lower.

Jason indulged me. And it was mud. Which was also fine. I just wanted to hear it with my own ears so that I could file it in my own aural folders under Yuck. But, these are the things you wrestle with when playing with another bassist. It's all part of the deal. Tune sounds good though. I just have to remap my motifs on a different part of the neck, which is not a bad exercise anyway. This entire endeavor has taught me SO much.

Helena

Helena was founded with the July 14, 1864 discovery of gold in a gulch off the Prickly Pear valley by the Four Georgians. The city's main street is named Last Chance Gulch and lies close to the winding path of the original gulch through the historic downtown district.
